Lincoln Accident and Emergency Department already employs an amazing team of dedicated Registered Nurses, RSCN's, Paramedics, Healthcare Support Workers, Reception staff and Housekeepers. An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Registered Nurse/Paramedic to join our team at Band 6 level.
Any successful candidate will be expected to work both days and nights over a 7-day working week to ensure consistent leadership and seniority.
Shift times are as follows:
07.45 - 20.15
19.45 - 08.15
Main duties of the job
The post holder is responsible and accountable:
• The assessment of care needs and the development, implementation and evaluation of programmes of care without supervision.
• Lead and monitor the performance and standards of care within the Nursing Team.
• Take the lead on projects as appropriate
• In conjunction with the Matron, Ward Manager and other senior nurses facilitate the development of the service and personal development of all nursing staff within the clinical area of responsibility
Working for our organisation
United Lincolnshire Hospitals NHS Trust has been granted teaching hospital status, after demonstrating evidence to significant teaching commitment. From now on it will be known as United Lincolnshire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust.
Lincoln Hospital is a thriving university city and with the opening of the medical school, it provides all major specialties and a 24-hour major accident and emergency service.
Lincolnshire Community Health Services NHS Trust (LCHS) and United Lincolnshire Hospitals NHS Trust (ULHT) have come together in a Group arrangement, with the goal of improving the care provided to patients across the county.
This will not constitute a formal merger of the two organisations, but will bring the Trusts together under a single Board and Executive Leadership Team, with the goal of improving the care that is provided to patients both in the community and in hospitals across Lincolnshire. Both Trusts will retain their separate statutory names and legal obligations.
The Group will be known as Lincolnshire Community and Hospitals NHS Group (LCHG).

Essential criteria
- Registered Nurse (relevant field)
- Evidence of degree-level study in a relevant Nursing field.
- Teaching/mentorship / practice supervisor or assessor qualification (or obtained within 12 months)
- Evidence of continuous professional development
Desirable criteria
- Independent prescribing qualification
Skills/competencies
Essential criteria
- Enhanced clinical assessment skills and autonomous decision-making.
- High-level communication, negotiation and de-escalation skills.
- Ability to prioritise workload, coordinate care and contribute to safe caseload management
- Detailed understanding of governance, safeguarding, evidence-based practice and risk management.
- Digital literacy and ability to use clinical IT systems effectively.
Desirable criteria
- Knowledge of clinical effectiveness and audit
- ED/emergency care experience
Knowledge, skills, aptitudes

- Specialist knowledge across a range of work procedures and practices
Expereince
Essential criteria
- Post-registration clinical experience relevant to the service area
- Experience supervising others, supporting learning and contributing to audit/QI.
- Experience managing complex clinical scenarios with autonomy.
