Clinical Senior Nurse

Band 6

West London NHS Trust  provides a full range of mental health, community  and physical healthcare services for children, adults and older people living in the London boroughs of Ealing, Hammersmith & Fulham and Hounslow.

We also provide some specialist services that are commissioned regionally, such as our medium secure services; and nationally, such as the Cassel Hospital for people with complex and severe personality disorder and our high secure services at Broadmoor Hospital.

Job overview

The Integrated Community Response Service is a large multidisciplinary team made up of GPs, occupational therapists, a social worker, physiotherapists, nurses, a community matron, and support workers. The main aim of the service is to manage complex clinical cases at home, prevent unnecessary hospital admission and support early discharge of patients following an acute admission. This award-winning rapid response team provides immediate assessment, intervention, early rehabilitation and management for a broad range of patients with complex needs. All members of the team work very closely together and have a good relationship with other community teams and clinicians such as district nurses, GPs, London Ambulance Service and mental health services.

Main duties of the job

We are currently seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to support the team to manage a complex caseload of patients and provide leadership for the administrative element of the team.  Alongside these duties, as part of the senior team, you will be expected to support the junior members of the multidisciplinary team and support the clinical services manager in day-to-day management and service development. The postholder will ensure that all service procedures and processes are effective and safe and enable the service to meet its contract targets and deliver a high-quality patient experience. You must be flexible, organised and have excellent time management skills as the team priorities change frequently throughout the day.

Working for our organisation

West London NHS Trust is one of the most diverse healthcare providers in the UK, delivering a range of mental health and physical healthcare and community services. The Trust runs Broadmoor Hospital, one of three high secure hospitals in the country, with an international reputation.

Our high secure services care for patients from South of England and we provide low and medium secure services across eight London boroughs. The Trust also provides mental and physical healthcare in three London boroughs (Ealing, Hounslow and   Hammersmith & Fulham). We employ 4,500 staff, of whom 56% are BME. Our turnover for 2023-24 is £426m.

The Trust is rated as ‘Good’ overall by the Care Quality Commission. Forensic services are rated as ‘Outstanding’.

The Trust is an established partner and contributor in the development of the evolving North West London Integrated Care System and the Integrated Care Board. The Trust leads the NW London Children and Adolescent Mental Health provider collaborative.
