Job overview
The King's Staff Bank offers flexible working patterns which support you and the Trust, and can also provide regular lines of work in Denmark Hill and Camberwell sites for those with regular availability and previous NHS nursing background.
The post holder will deliver high quality safe nursing care, ensuring consistently high standards of practice and clinical excellence which comply with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) code of professional conduct.
We are looking for a Band 7 Colposcopist (8A will be considered) based at our Denmark Hill site, with immediate availability.
About You:
- must be BSCCP accredited
- have current/recent experience in an NHS colposcopy service
- will not be required to carry out governance or management duties.
Main duties of the job
The post holder must be an RN (1) and is therefore bound by the NMC Code of Professional Conduct for Nurses, Midwives and Health Visitors
Job Summary
· To practice independently as a Nurse Colposcopist, accredited by the British Society for Colposcopy and Cervical Pathology (BSCCP).
· To manage a caseload of patients
· To assist the Lead Nurse Colposcopist in maintaining a cost effective service, based upon the objectives of the department. Care Group and Trust
· To ensure that patients and their families are fully informed and supported by providing clinical and social support
· To assist in the development of evidence based clinical nursing practice in line with current research and guidelines
· To maintain clear lines of communication within the colposcopy and Women’s Health teams to ensure cohesive multidisciplinary management of patients
