Job overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Gynaecology-oncology nurse to join our Clinical Nurse Specialist team. The post holder will have a distinct level of responsibility to private patients with Gynaecological tumours receiving treatment at both the Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust in Chelsea and the outpatient department at Cavendish Square.
Cavendish Square is a private diagnostic and treatment centre located close to Harley Street providing access to many same day diagnostic tests and procedures alongside administration of systemic anti-cancer treatments (SACT) to our patients.
You will need to be enthusiastic about providing high quality care, be proactive, reliable, flexible and demonstrate excellent communication and prioritisation skills. You must be confident working in virtual environments supported by digital platforms, and across hospital sites and all treatment modalities for Gynaecological cancers.
Due to the nature of the role, we are looking for a dependable and highly adaptable individual who can work independently and has the ability to fit in quickly as part of a team. If this sounds like you, we will welcome your application.

To sustain a high-quality specialist service for the patient, from diagnosis through all stages of the disease and actively provide optimum liaison and continuity of care.
To discuss in-depth all treatment options, including research-based treatments for Gynaecological cancers with sensitivity, knowledge and expertise to enable patients to make an informed choice. To act as patient advocate when appropriate and respecting patient confidentiality and privacy with respect for diverse cultural backgrounds and requirements.
In collaboration with Clinical Nurse Specialist colleagues, to formulate and/or revise relevant policies and to regularly review this following change/implementation. To work within the procedures and policies of the Trust.

Education/Qualifications
Essential criteria
- Registration
- Evidence of on-going professional development
- Qualification in oncology or speciality Diploma or Degree level study (or equivalent)
- Recognised teaching qualification
- Evidence of master’s level learning or prepared to work towards
- Be willing to undertake Trust CNS role development programme or be able to demonstrate equivalent competencies
Experience
Essential criteria
- In-depth Gynae-oncology specialist experience sufficient post registration nursing experience in oncology or speciality to be confident and competent in using the required skills to do the job.
- Experience as a senior staff nurse in oncology nursing.
Desirable criteria
- Experience in chemotherapy administration
- Experience of Surgery for Gynae-oncology
- Experience of Radiotherapy for Gynae-oncology
- Experience in Clinical Management
- Evidence of relevant teaching experience
- Knowledge and understanding of clinical trials management
- Previous experience of working as a clinical nurse specialist
- Experience of audit and research
Skills Abilities/knowledge
Desirable criteria
- Venepuncture and/or cannulation skills
