Trosolwg o'r swydd

The individual in this role will divide their time equally between two key responsibilities: providing clinical support to newly qualified midwives and developing educational opportunities for maternity assistants (MAs) and maternity support workers (MSWs) in alignment with the Health Education England (HEE) framework.

 Preceptorship Lead:

The post holder will be responsible for supporting newly qualified midwives to successfully achieve essential clinical competencies, ensuring their practice is both evidence-based and safe.

This element of the role focuses on reviewing existing training provisions and developing tailored, role-specific programmes to meet the learning needs of MAs and MSWs. This includes creating comprehensive orientation packs for each clinical area, ensuring that support staff are well-prepared for their roles.

A core aim of the role is to support the retention and development of the MA/MSW workforce by offering ongoing training and clearly defined career progression. The post holder will also play a key role in the implementation of the apprenticeship pathway for MAs wishing to progress to Band 3.

The Preceptorship Clinical Support Midwife/Practice Educator for MSWs will work closely with the Practice Development Midwives (PDMs) and Clinical Practice Facilitators (CPFs) to deliver coordinated training, education, and recruitment activities.
