Healthcare Assistant-Band 3 Out of Hours  service

We are Transforming Adult Community Services in Croydon. Do you have the skills to be part of this exciting transformation?

In Croydon, Health and Social care providers and commissioners have formed the Croydon Alliance Board with the aim of providing a whole system transformation that will deliver the outcomes our over 65’s have specified that they want.

The Outcome- Based Commissioning programme is a radically different approach to funding and delivery of services designed to deliver outcomes local people want whilst getting best value from the Health and Social care sectors. This includes the provision of well-coordinated care and support to promote independence in the most appropriate setting.

We require  a Healthcare Assistant to work within the Community Nursing Service to provide efficient and effective nursing care to patients in their own homes. 

All candidates must have a clean driving license and use of a car for work purposes. Once recruited staff can take advantage of our child care facilities.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will work independently under the direction and guidance of a registered nurse in order to provide efficient and effective evidence based nursing care to patients in their own homes.  They will
work in partnership with team members, service users, general practice staff and other agencies.

To work as part of the District Nursing Service and other stakeholders to provide efficient and effective nursing care as delegated to patients in their own home.

Education And Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • • NVQ III or equivalent in relevant area of practice or willingness to undertake.
  • • Must be able to speak, read and write English.
  • • Must have clear legible handwriting.
Desirable criteria
  • • Recent experience working as a health care assistant within Community Nursing Service or Primary Care.

Knowledge And Understanding

Essential criteria
  • • Must have knowledge and understanding of Health and Safety responsibilities.
  • • Understanding of the need for confidentiality in relation to work activities
  • • Understanding the HCA role.
