Specialist Safeguarding Midwife
Band 7 part time 30 hours
An exciting opportunity has arisen within Croydon Health Integrated Safeguarding Team to appoint an enthusiastic Specialist Safeguarding Midwife.
We are looking for a motivated professional with excellent communication skills who is able to provide both strong advocacy on behalf of the client group and partnership working within the role.
The post holder will undertake the role as Lead Midwife for Teenage Pregnancy for the Trust in accordance with the role and competencies outlined with ‘Working Together’ 2018 and the RCPCH Intercollegiate (2019) guidance which will include professionally supporting other members of the maternity safeguarding team.
The post holder will be a highly visible safeguarding midwife and as such expected to provide specialist knowledge, advice and clinical expertise to all staff in maternity services in all areas of safeguarding including children, young people and adults of concern. The post will be divided into 80% Lead Midwife for Teenage Pregnancy (safeguarding) and 20% Clinical Midwifery Management.
Working as a team player, your role will require excellent assessment skills, partnership working and a strong commitment towards achieving the outcomes to improve the health of this client group. You will be expected to demonstrate clinical expertise and governance in all aspects of your work with particular attention to safeguarding maternity concerns being supported by robust organisational supervision, guidelines and policies.
In return you will receive dedicated support and professional development and leadership skills alongside the wider integrated Team between South West London CCG (Croydon-based) and Croydon University Hospital NHS Trust.

You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (Amendment) (England and Wales) Order 2020 and it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service.
