The Operating Theatres at The Royal Free London Trust - Chase Farm Hospital site is an exciting and interesting place to work.
We are looking for an enthusiastic, proactive , experienced day surgery nurse to support the day to day duties in the Chase Farm Day Surgery Unit.
Our facilities combined with the latest in technology and on-site support services enable our consultants to undertake a wide range of procedures from routine investigations to complex surgery.
The purpose of days surgery nurse is to provide the optimal level of care for patients who are due to have surgical intervention and immediately after anaesthetics & recovery.
The day surgery team admits pre-operative and post-general anaesthetic patients The department provides immediate post-operative and post-general anaesthetic services to various specialities Maxillo facial , ENT, General Surgery , Endoscopy and Orthopaedics.

Main duties of the job

Pre-operative Care:
- Admitting patients, completing pre-operative checklists, and ensuring informed consent.
- Conducting pre-operative assessments, including medical history, allergies, and medication reconciliation.
- Educating patients about the surgical procedure and expected outcomes

Post-operative Care:
- Managing pain and nausea, administering medications, and providing post-operative care.
- Preparing patients for discharge, providing discharge instructions and follow-up care recommendations.
