Main duties of the job
The Consultant Midwife will use midwifery expertise to promote clinical pathways in maternity care leading specialist midwifery practice within all areas of maternity services.
The role will be to lead and support midwives to realise their full potential as autonomous practitioners placing women and their families at the centre of care planning

Essential criteria
- Registered Midwife
- Mentorship Accreditation or Practice Assessor accreditation
- Master’s degree in relevant subject
- Significant experience in midwifery care at Band 8a and above
Desirable criteria
- Accredited management training course
- Car driver

- Ability to demonstrate significant experience in midwifery practice including responsibility for aspects of case management, managing a clinical area, leading elements of service provision and of supporting staff in the clinical environment.
