NLFS delivers mental health care across some of the prisons and provides mental health services as HM Young Offenders Institutions in Aylesbury.

We also provide one of the largest eating disorder services in England, as well as drug and alcohol services and mental health liaison services in North Middlesex University Hospitals Trust.

HUB Service Referral Screening Clinician - Band 6

An opportunity has arisen for  enthusiastic and experienced Band 6 Nurses to work in the crisis telephone hub.

The HUB is an emergency mental health crisis line which is the first point of contact for people who are in mental health Crisis within Barnet, Enfield and Haringey. We are looking for a dynamic, confident and motivated mental health practitioner with excellent communication skills, who has the ability to lead on clinical decision making. The practitioner will liaise with mentally ill people, carers, families, other services and work as part of a busy team within a secure setting.

The post involves providing high quality evidence based support and advice, the triage of referrals, comprehensive assessment and short term interventions for people who are referred to secondary mental health services over the telephone using a range of appropriate interventions, based on the local and national practice guidance. You will need to demonstrate expertise in risk assessment and management working in a community assessment service.

In addition you will support the role of the call handlers, providing expert clinical guidance, knowledge and development.

We are seeking proactive, dynamic and skilled staff (RMN /OT /Social Worker) to be appointed as Band 6 Clinical Specialists to work in a fast-paced Team.

As a screening clinician, you will have demonstrable post registration experience and be able to demonstrate post registration study and development. You will be expected to be a role model, offering mentoring and supervision to other staff and students.
