Job overview
We are recruiting for a Band 5 experienced Paediatric Nurse to work within our Children’s services at The Royal London Hospital.
The nurse-led Children’s Daycare Unit is part of a versatile and dynamic service, providing high quality holistic care in both our medical and surgical unit. An emphasis is on working in partnership with the children and their families for best experience whilst they are going through their acute and chronic condition.
Main duties of the job
We are looking for someone that has extensive experience working as a band 5 on Paediatric Ward who is now looking to increase their knowledge in surgical and a medical care. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work on our day medical unit which will include administering biologic therapy, transfusions and be involved in transitional care. You will liaise with specialist teams and provide clinical interventions to children and adolescents under the gastroenterology, endocrinology, haematology, and oncology service. This will provide you with excellent exposure to learning and building on new skills which is paramount for career progression.
Staff are encouraged and given the opportunity to continue their professional development through attendance on relevant courses provided by both City and London Southbank universities.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
The aim of this post is to provide a high standard of patient care pre and post operatively in conjunction with the multi-disciplinary team in order to enhance the wellbeing of patients. To supervise and teach junior members of staff and learners as required and maintain personal development with support.
