Job overview
CLCH is seeking a Registered Nurse, Midwife or Specialist Community Public Health Practitioner to lead Health’s contribution to the Families First Partnership Programme and Multi-Agency Child Protection Team (MACPT) across Westminster, Kensington and Chelsea.
This Band 8a role offers an opportunity to shape how health contributes to integrated support and safeguarding for children, young people and families. Based within the Multi-Agency Hub/MACPT, you will provide expert clinical advice, strengthen health’s contribution to multi-agency decision-making and help drive service development and improvement.
You will:
- Provide senior health leadership across the Family Help and MACPT model.
- Advise on complex safeguarding and child protection matters.
- Influence strategy, policy, practice and workforce development.
- Build effective partnerships across health, social care, education, police and other agencies.
- Support quality assurance, learning and continuous improvement.
You will bring your professional expertise to a collaborative environment where your leadership can make a meaningful difference to outcomes for children, young people and families.
Main duties of the job
- Lead Health’s contribution to the Family Help and MACPT model, ensuring health needs and perspectives are embedded in multi-agency practice.
- Act as the lead health professional within safeguarding forums, providing expert clinical advice and professional challenge where appropriate.
- Contribute to complex safeguarding and child protection assessment, planning and decision-making.
- Develop strong working relationships with children’s social care, education, primary and acute care, police and wider safeguarding partners.
- Lead and support service transformation, quality improvement and effective implementation of change.
- Influence policy, procedures, practice and workforce development to strengthen safeguarding arrangements.
- Lead quality assurance activity, including audit, learning reviews and implementation of identified improvements.
- Use evidence, professional expertise and partnership working to promote better outcomes for children, young people and families.

Education & Qualification
Essential criteria
- Registered Nurse/Midwife
- Educated to degree level / master’s or have equivalent experience.
- Evidence safeguarding children’s competency Level 3 and post registration education/ training in safeguarding children.
- Evidence of continuing professional development with relevant further qualifications
Desirable criteria
- SCHPN Health Visitor/ School nursing
- Educated or working towards a master’s degree in relevant field.
- Level 4 safeguarding children’s competencies
Experience
Essential criteria
- Experience of undertaking learning reviews and implementing changes in practice
- Experience of developing guidelines, policy, and procedures
- Experience of developing guidelines, policy, and procedures
- Ability to present complex information effectively in a format easily understood
- Experience of implementing change management and/ or projects.
- Evidence safeguarding children’s competency Level 3 and post registration education/ training in safeguarding children.
- Evidence of MASH/Social care experience
Skills & Knowledge
Essential criteria
- A good Understanding/ knowledge or experience of the Families First Partnership reforms
- Knowledge of multi-agency and multi-professional working
- Detailed knowledge of key statutory responsibilities and national policy regarding children’s services, vulnerable children, and safeguarding
