Clinical Team Leader- Danube Ward

NHS AfC: Band 6

Job overview

Do you think you have what it takes to work within an innovative and unique mental health service within central London?

If so, we have the opportunity for you!

We currently have vacancies on our Acute Admission & Treatment Wards and are looking for Registered Mental Health Nurses who are looking for a new challenge to take on the role of Clinical Team Leader on  Danube Ward based at St. Charles Hospital in the Borough of Kensington and Chelsea with good transport links.

CNWL prides itself on its investment in staff both in terms of developing career skills but also its commitment to staff health and wellbeing. As part of this post you will receive this and much more!

As a Clinical Team Lead you will form an integral part of the MDT and be responsible for supporting the Ward manager to lead a dedicated team of registered and unregistered staff by having an active role in developing, monitoring and maintaining care standards; through role modelling, clear decision making and demonstrating your highly developed clinical skills.

In addition to the above you will be expected to adopt the “Bleep Holder Role” as required where you will act as the Unit Coordinator.

Main duties of the job

Why join our wards?

  • We are committed to empowering our service users and to allow our staff more time to do what they love; NURSING.
  • We’re passionate about delivering first-class patient-centred, safe and effective care, within the hospital setting. Patients are at the heart of everything we do.
  • Providing top quality care depends on our ability to employ the best people.
  • We’re always looking to recruit outstanding people who will go the extra mile to support our patients, colleagues, teams and the Trust. With every new employee we’re hoping to find our future leaders and we’ll support our staff by providing opportunities to develop your career.
  • With a diverse culture and equally diverse range of opportunities across the unit, there's always a place for you at CNWL.

Working for our organisation

You will be offered;

  • Shift work that can support you to have a healthier work-life balance.
  • Great transportation links that will make your commute easier.
  • Commitment to develop you as a practitioner as evidenced by current staff progressing to Band 7 positions and others being supported to complete their Nursing Advocate and Advanced Clinical Practitioner training.
  • Opportunities to shadow our other services at St Charles such as HTT, FRT, HBPoS and speciality inpatient services.
  • Regular supervision and career mapping including development programmes.
  • Participation in case-formulation and specialist, psychology-led training sessions.
  • The chance to work with a strong, forward-thinking and innovative service that will allow you to flourish as a practitioner and do what you do best, nursing.
  • Hidden Gem, annual award ceremonies and award-winning Staff Networks that have thousands of members and exciting events.
  • Excellent staff benefits: our benefit packages are amongst the best in London and include: childcare vouchers, health and wellbeing services, season ticket loans and cycle to work scheme.

The successful applicant may have contact with patients or service users. As an NHS Trust we strongly encourage and support vaccination as this remains the best way to protect yourself, your family, your colleagues and of course patients and service users when working on our healthcare settings.
