Band 6 Clinical Audit Facilitator

Critical Care and Anaesthetic Directorate

Are you interested in improving the quality of patient care within Critical Care by implementing high quality clinical research and audit?

An exciting career opportunity is available to join a team of Clinical Research and Audit Nurses and support staff within the Critical Care Directorate at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust.

The role is challenging and varied and includes responsibility for the day-to-day collection, validation and reporting of critical care activity data for specific critical care performance and quality projects, payment by results income and local, national and international critical care bench marking projects.

The post holder will also support the research nurses by participating in specific research projects across our four Critical Care Units.  

The post holder will be a member of a dynamic, motivated and friendly team and will be expected to work in all areas of Critical Care within our directorate which covers Charing Cross, Hammersmith and St. Mary’s Hospitals.

The four Critical Care Units specialise in Trauma, Neurosurgery, ENT, Vascular, Hepatobiliary Gynaecology and Cardiothoracic Surgery. There are eighty-eight Critical Care beds in total and we have a patient turnover of over four thousand admissions per year.

We are looking for a registered nurse with clinical experience within Critical Care or an acute clinical setting. Although audit experience is not essential advanced knowledge and understanding of clinical research and audit and good general IT skills is expected.

In return we can offer you a fantastic opportunity to gain experience in clinical audit & research in relation to critically ill patients and as part of the Academic Health Science Centre, we will ensure you have training and development opportunities to support you in your new role.
