An exciting opportunity has opened up for a skilled and compassionate Midwife to join our esteemed maternity team at the Lindo Wing Private Maternity Unit. With over 75 years of excellence in private obstetric and neonatal care, the Lindo Wing has garnered an international reputation, serving thousands of mothers, including members of the royal family and celebrities.

Main duties of the job

As a primary care provider in midwifery, the midwife will deliver comprehensive care across community, labour ward (including MLC unit), and postnatal wards. The role requires flexible working, including internal rotation between areas and day/night duties to ensure 24-hour coverage.

Education/ qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Midwifery degree or equivalent
  • Mentorship or full SSSA preparation
  • Registered Midwife (on NMC register)
Desirable criteria
  • Experience in delivering parent education

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Completed 18 months post registration clinical experience
  • Working as an RM in the UK
Desirable criteria
  • Worked within a postnatal community setting
  • Worked within a Midwife Led setting

Skills/knowledge/ abilities

Essential criteria
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Knowledge of obstetric
  • Emergency skills and drills and the ability to perform in an emergency situation
  • Perineal Suturing
  • IV drugs administration and cannulation
  • Medicines management
  • Understanding and knowledge of fetal monitoring
