Emergency Clinical Practitioner
NHS AfC: Band 7
Would you like the opportunity to join a dynamic, innovative, and friendly team of ENP’s/ECP’s at Lewisham Urgent Care Centre which is currently integrated with Adult ED.
Lewisham Hospital is looking for an experienced Emergency Nurse/Clinical Practitioner to increase our current staffing.
We are looking for candidates with strong clinical skills in an acute emergency setting. The successful candidate will show they are willing to support innovation, and are committed to service improvement in a very busy department.
We are looking for an ENP/ECP/ AHP with at least 6 months experience in an acute emergency setting as an autonomous practitioner. We would prefer a qualified practitioner with experience in an acute setting with a completed autonomous practice course in minor injury and ailments; we will also consider a trainee with 5 years’ experience in an acute setting at Band 6 and above. Having the non-medical prescribing course would also be desirable.
In return you will be working as part of a highly supportive team with strong clinical guidance in order to aid your own professional development. We currently cover the service from 7 am to midnight 7 days a week and we work 1 in 2 weekends. We would also consider those applicants who wish to work just twilight shifts to accommodate personal circumstances; we have some staff who work 18:00-00:00 twilight shifts as flexible working. We currently have a mixed team of autonomous practitioners, who have a nursing, paramedic and physio background and are happy to consider candidates with similar.
The ENP/ECP team is well supported by the Senior ED Clinicians, Matrons, nurses and HCA’s and work alongside our SHO and ACP colleagues in a busy environment. We only work in UCC at Lewisham Hospital and do not rotate to ED or to our sister site at Queen Elizabeth Hospital.
We have developed and are now teaching a yearly Greenwich University accredited ENP/ECP Autonomous practice course at level 6 and 7 developed by and taught by the senior ENP's , which is a huge credit to our department.
We have strong transport links by train/bus/DLR on our doorstep from all areas
