Healthcare Support Worker
Band 3
North Middlesex University Hospital is one of London’s busiest acute hospitals, serving more than 350,000 people living in Enfield and Haringey and the surrounding areas, including Barnet and Waltham Forest.
Every day, on average, we see 500 patients in A&E; 15 babies are born in our maternity unit; about 450 inpatients are cared for on our wards; about 50 patients have major or minor surgery in one of our 10 operating theatres; and about 800 people attend our outpatients clinics.
We provide a full range of adult, elderly and children's services across medical and surgical disciplines. Our specialist services include stroke, HIV/AIDS, cardiology (including heart failure care), haematology, diabetes, sleep studies, fertility and orthopaedics. Our sickle cell and thalassaemia department is nationally recognised as a leading centre for these diseases.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a 37.5 hour band 3 Healthcare Assistant for a substantive post, within the Ophthalmology department at North Middlesex University Hospital NHS Trust.
The successful applicant will work closely as part of a multi-disciplinary team comprising of nurses, health care assistants, pharmacy, consultants, clinicians and administrators.
The duties will include dealing with supporting clinics, injection service and the diagnostic clinics.
The execution of the varied tasks requires use of the hospital computer systems. Experience of using Medway or Medisoft is essential however training will be provided.
Applicants should be able to demonstrate competency in the use of computer packages, information systems and database management. Previous NHS experience in a similar role would be desirable.
The post holder will be expected to have excellent communication, excellent organisational skills, the ability to prioritise their workload, a caring disposition and degree of flexibility are critical to the success within this role.
