We are looking for full time 37.5 wte Band 7 Critical Care Outreach Practitioner at St. George’s Healthcare University Hospitals NHS Foundation which  is one of the UK’s largest healthcare organisations and is integrated with Wandsworth Community Services. The Trust shares its main hospital site in South West London with St George’s University of London, and is linked to Kingston University Faculty of Health Social Care& Education.

St George’s has an established national and international reputation as a leading hospital for specialist care including neurosciences, cardiac care, stroke and cancer. We provide excellent local care to the residents of Wandsworth, and regional specialist centre care for a number of specialities including, hyper acute stroke and major trauma.

We are a Major Trauma centre and have one of only two helipads in London, with direct access to the Trust’s state of the art Emergency Department. The helipad increases the number of direct HEMs admissions and secondary transfers requiring intensive care services.

We employ 8,000 staff, have an annual income of c£620m, around 1,100 beds and we serve a population of 1.3 million across south west London.

We are looking for dynamic experienced, enthusiastic, motivated senior Band 7 nurses who are dedicated to delivering excellent patient care outside the critical care area.

Come and join us from inception as we set up and implement our new hospital wide Consultant led Critical Care Outreach team. Successful applicants will be part of a specialist multi-disciplinary team of nurses and doctors supported by an outreach Matron and Medical Consultant providing expert clinical skills, holistic care and support to the acutely unwell or deteriorating ward patients.

We are a large teaching hospital with a 60 bedded critical care environment, managing a diverse range of specialities including general / respiratory medicine, cardiac and cardiology, neurosciences, vascular, renal medicine surgery, obstetrics, plastic surgery, ENT and orthopaedics and Major Trauma.
