Newham University Hospital is part of Barts Health NHS Trust which is the largest Trusts in England. The hospital is located in an area with very good transport links (DLR, Elizabeth Line, District Line, buses) and for those who like cycling the hospital can be easily  reached through  Greenway Footpath (cycleway) 

An exciting opportunity has arisen to appoint an inspirational, passionate and enthusiastic Tissue Viability Nurse (TVN) Specialist to join our tissue viability team and be part of TVN service at Barts Trust.

The post requires vision, innovation and the ability to work across professional boundaries, a real desire to provide the highest standards of patient care. This is the post to cover maternity leave. The service is between Monday -Friday, 9-5pm .

You will be an enthusiastic and motivated individual with advanced clinical skills and will be able to work autonomously and able to provide expert and specialist support in relation to complex wounds to the clinical team, patients and care takers.

The post holder will work closely with Diabetes team, Vascular team, Podiatrists and Wound Care specialists to improve patient safety and share best practices.

               Provide autonomous specialist, holistic patient centred care and harm reducing clinical and management solutions to achieve skin integrity, optimal wound healing and preservation of tissue health

 

               Provide specialist, expert advice and education to support our clinical teams to deliver safe and compassionate care, reduce harm and improve patient experience 

 

               Assist in Trust wide pressure ulcer reduction campaigns working in partnership with the Tissue Viability Hospital Service Lead and site Directors of Nursing to sustain and embed the improvements

 

               Provide expert advice on Tissue Viability related resources, equipment and products required for a safe and effective care across Barts Health

 

               Develop, review, and evaluate Trust wide Tissue viability policies, protocols/guidelines and adapt regional and national guidelines for local use

Qualifications

  • Qualifications Registered Nurse with current NMC registration
  • Graduate with relevant degree or equivalent
  • Recognised tissue viability qualification (level 3)
  • Teaching Qualification

Experience
