Job overview
Southwark CAMHS are seeking to recruit a CAMHS Practitioner with strong clinical skills. This is a fixed-term 0.85 WTE post available for 12 months based within the Southwark CAMHS Neurodevelopmental Service. Within the Neurodevelopmental Service, you will work alongside the Clinical Service Lead as well as other colleagues, to support the team and ensure the delivery of high quality, evidence-based assessment and treatments. You will be responsible for your own clinical caseload and you will be involved in assessments (including diagnostic assessments for ADHD), care planning, and offering interventions for children and adolescents with neurodevelopmental disorders, with support from the multi-disciplinary team.
We offer ongoing training and development in a range of therapeutic modalities, as well as supervision and leadership skills.

• registered with the Health & Care Professions Council as a Practitioner Psychologist.
OR
•    have an accredited professional training in nursing, social work, occupational therapy, or art therapy.
AND 
•    have experience of delivering mental health services to children and young people with neurodevelopmental disability in diverse community settings.

Main duties of the job
Southwark CAMHS – CAMHS Practitioner (Fixed-Term, 0.85 WTE, 12 Months)
Southwark CAMHS is seeking to appoint a CAMHS Practitioner with strong clinical skills to join our Neurodevelopmental Service. This is a fixed-term position (0.85 WTE) for a duration of 12 months.
As part of the Neurodevelopmental Service, you will work collaboratively with the Clinical Service Lead and other team members to support service delivery and ensure high-quality, evidence-based assessments and interventions. You will manage your own clinical caseload and contribute to assessments—including diagnostic assessments for ADHD—care planning, and therapeutic interventions for children and adolescents with neurodevelopmental disorders, supported by a multidisciplinary team.

Essential criteria
- Registered with the HCPC as Practitioner Psychologist.
 - First level nursing qualification/registration RMN orRSCN or HV, or first level qualification in OT, social work, or equivalent with related CAMHS experience.
 - First level qualification in art, play, drama or music therapy with related experience in the psychological aspects of caring for children and adolescent with mental health problems/needs, developmental/ learning disability problems.

- Experience of working with children and young people with mental health conditions, particularly of those young people with neurodevelopmental needs
 - Experience of working with, and addressing issues of, diversity.
 - Experience of working in a multidisciplinary setting.
 - Experience of working with multidisciplinary networks inmanaging complex cases.
 - Experience of offering consultation to other colleagues and agencies.
 
Knowledge / Skills
Essential criteria
- Specialist knowledge concerning the needs of children with mental health problems and their families, particularly of those young people with neurodevelopmental needs.
 - Knowledge of key legislation in relation to the client group and mental health issues
 - Awareness of racial and diversity issues through attendance of relevant training.
 - Skills in providing professional advice to practitioners and local organisations and in clinical and non-clinical report writing for multiagency purposes

You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
