Job overview
We are seeking motivated and dynamic Band 6 Community Nurse to join the Specialist Children’s Community Nursing Team in providing excellent quality nursing care for children.
The role will require the successful candidate to work as part of the team based at Pitsea Clinic visiting children who have been discharged from hospital with further secondary care needs. You will work closely with the end of life and palliative care specialist.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will assist the existing Children’s Community Nursing Team in carrying out a range of clinical activities. They will utilise a range of skills and experience gained in clinical practice to provide holistic assessments for children who have complex needs. Clinical judgement will aid the postholder to formulate a care plan based on these assessments. The postholder will also demonstrate excellent time management skills to enable them to work autonomously at times. Excellent communication skills are essential as well as good knowledge of current Nursing best practice and the ability to work as an effective team member across the Specialist Children's Nursing Teams as well as the wider Multidisciplinary Team and external agencies.

Starting with NELFT
NELFT place a great deal of importance on new starters being properly welcomed and inducted into the Trust. All new starters will join the Trust on the first Monday of each month and will undertake a comprehensive induction of up to two weeks which will include mandatory training, systems training and the allocation of equipment. As part of the process new starters will have the opportunity to also meet the executive team, senior managers and attend a number of drop in sessions focusing in engagement, health and wellbeing and key processes. The induction will be held at our head office in Rainham, Essex.
Probationary Period
This post will be subject to a probationary period. Internal applicants are exempt from the probationary period (unless you are an internal applicant currently part way through a probationary period or currently a bank member of staff).
High Cost Area Supplement – Fringe
This post also attracts payment for High Cost Area Supplement of 5% of the basic salary (minimum payment of £1,258 and a maximum payment of £2,122 per annum pro rata).
