Job overview
NELFT is looking for 6 highly motivated qualified nurses interested in undertaking the Community Nursing Specialist Practitioner qualification (DNSPQ) in September 2025.You will be given a fixed term contract with NELFT to undertake a one-year full-time course.
The course is taken jointly with London South Bank University.
Applications will be accepted until: 01-06-2025.
Interviews will be held on: 23-06-2025 and 24-06-2025.
The admission criteria for the course meet NMC standards (NMC 2022) and the applicant:
• Must have a first level registration as a nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) and have active registration with no restrictions to their practice.
• Must have achieved a first degree of 2:2 or above.
• Should show evidence of recent study (within the last 2 years).

Main duties of the job
The main responsibilities of the post:
The post of Specialist Community Practitioner Sponsorship Student is a development post building on existing knowledge, skills and competencies to achieve a higher level of practice resulting in an academic qualification as well as a recordable/recognised qualification with the Nursing and Midwifery Council.

Starting with NELFT
NELFT place a great deal of importance on new starters being properly welcomed and inducted into the Trust. All new starters will join the Trust on the first Monday of each month and will undertake a comprehensive induction of up to two weeks which will include mandatory training, systems training and the allocation of equipment. As part of the process new starters will have the opportunity to also meet the executive team, senior managers and attend a number of drop in sessions focussing in engagement, health and wellbeing and key processes. The induction will be held at our head office in Rainham, Essex.
Probationary Period
This post will be subject to a probationary period. Internal applicants are exempt from the probationary period (unless you are an internal applicant currently part way through a probationary period or currently a bank member of staff).
High Cost Area Supplement
This post also attracts payment for High Cost Area Supplement of 15% of the basic salary (with a minimum of £4,551 to a maximum of £5,735).
