Job overview

West London NHS Trust (WLT) has been commissioned to provide the first female, Level 2 specialist mental health high support rehabilitation ward, based at The Orchard Unit, St Bernards Hospital, Ealing.

We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated seeking a number of experienced or new Registered Mental Health Nurses to join our dedicated team on Melrose ward. This is a unique opportunity to shape the future of female mental health rehabilitation in a supportive and innovative environment. You will be part of a forward-thinking team committed to high quality patient care and recovery.

Melrose ward is a 10 bedded Level 2 specialist mental health high support rehabilitation ward, based at The Orchard in Ealing. The service will provide care and intensive support to women with complex mental health needs particularly where previous placements have been unable to adequality support their recovery. The service will offer trauma-informed, gender sensitive care with staff trained in the specific needs of women, as well as to facilitate family involvement and social inclusion supporting transitions to community settings

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Registered Nurse Mental Health on the NMC Register.
  • (sub part 1 RN3 & Sub part 2 RN4)
  • Able to produce a current portfolio of evidence, which concords with the NMC Revalidation Process, and demonstrates compliance
Desirable criteria
  • Diploma / Degree in Nursing
  • Mentorship in Practice I.e. ENB 998
  • NVQ Assessor

Experience

Essential criteria
  • A General experience around mental health gained through a Nursing University Programme or work experience.
Desirable criteria
  • General life experience/skills
  • Previous experience in Forensic Setting or equivalent
  • Evidence of being an Inspirational Leader

Knowledge

Essential criteria
  • Able to demonstrate knowledge and skills in mental health nursing practice and current trends within mental health nursing
  • Act in such a manner as outlined in the Code of Professional Conduct and which meets the requirements of the Mental Health Act
  • Maintain & Demonstrate awareness of professional and organisational developments
