An exciting opportunity has arisen for Healthcare Support Workers to join one of our wards at The Hillingdon Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.  

We are seeking enthusiastic, caring, and experienced individuals who would enjoy the challenge of working as a healthcare support worker. The post holder will provide patient-centred and compassionate care and will work as a member of a team that delivers clinical care under the supervision of registered nursing staff.  

The post holder will also be responsible for ensuring that patients are cared for in a safe environment and that their privacy and dignity is maintained at all times. You will be required to provide direct care and provide verbal and written reports, as well as to actively develop a relationship with patients and carers to ensure a positive experience for all.

Main duties of the job

1.    The healthcare assistant / support worker will Provide patient centred, compassionate care at all times and advocate for the patient.

2.    The healthcare assistant / support worker is a member of the team that delivers clinical care under the supervision of a registered nurse. Tasks are delegated by the registered nurse.

3.    The post holder is responsible for ensuring that patients are cared for in a safe environment and that privacy and dignity is maintained at all times.

4.    The post holder will provide direct care and provide verbal and written reports.

5.    To actively seek the views of patients / carers on their understanding of their care needs and develop a relationship to ensure the patients experience is positive.

6.    Achieve competence in and undertake skills appropriate to the clinical areas, as set out in the Band 3 skills framework.

The Hillingdon Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is the only acute Hospital in the London Borough of Hillingdon and offers a wide range of services including accident and emergency, inpatient care, day surgery, outpatient clinics and maternity services. The Trust’s services at Mount Vernon Hospital include routine day surgery, delivered at a modern treatment centre, a minor injuries unit and outpatient clinics.
