Job overview

To work in conjunction with the haematology specialist nurses, in the effective management of the haematology / medical patients within the day unit. To be aware of day unit policies and procedures and ensure that these are adhered to.

The post holder will be responsible for assisting in the smooth running of the Medical haematology Day Unit. To take responsibility and accountability for a group of patients. The assessment of care needs and the development, implementation and evaluation of programmes of care to all patients and to assist in the care of patients on Clinical Trials

 

Main duties of the job

To work within an experienced nursing team to deliver care and treatments to patients attending the Medical Haematology Day Unit this will include a variety of specialities including Gastroenterology, Neurology, Endocrine, Rheumatology patients . In most delivering care and supporting  Haematology patients with both malignant and non malignant conditions.
