Job overview

The Clinical Vascular Specialist Nurse (CNS) will provide expert care for patients with  vascular conditions, delivering high-quality, evidence-based nursing interventions. This role requires a combination of clinical expertise, advanced nursing skills, and the ability to function autonomously as a specialist across the royal free sites . The post holder will also be actively involved in service development, audits, and providing both formal and informal education to staff and patients.

Main duties of the job

The Clinical Nurse Specialist will be required:

  •  Work closely with vascular surgeons, physiotherapist, and other healthcare profession to advise and support in the delivery of specialised care.
  •   Provide specialist nursing care to patients with vascular conditions, including peripheral artery disease.
  • The Post holder will be a skilled, autonomous practitioner with expert knowledge in the specialist care of vascular disease, develop and implement individualised care plans for patients with vascular conditions.
  •   To undertake nurse led clinics across Royal Free site sites including Chase Farm Hospital/ North Middlesex Hospital.
  • The post holder will be expected to liaise appropriately with all key members of the multi-disciplinary team and service users in vascular department working closely with the members of the MDT to ensure that all aspects of patients’ treatment is arranged and followed up.
  • Provide support and cover across the virtual ward platform.
