Job overview

Emergency services are receiving increasing volumes of calls for individuals presenting with acute mental health issues in the community. A significant proportion of emergency services resource is being used to support individuals struggling with their mental health, who often present with complex issues that require further assessment and ongoing support. 
The Mental Health Urgent Triage Team (MHUT) are a partnership between Pennine Care NHS Foundation Trust, GMMH, NWAS and GMP. The postholder will provide operational leadership to the team. The postholder will be based within the clinical hub in NWAS and will be 
trained in the use of the EOC software systems. The post holder will be a Registered Mental Health Practitioner and will work within MHUT 
triaging 999 calls, providing senior support to the team. As Team Manager you will have responsibility for the collection and feedback of data on a weekly basis and feedback from patient journeys. The Team Manager will strengthen working relationships between agencies on the front line providing mutual education and sharing insight into available local resource and support for local services users. 

Main duties of the job

The MHUT Team Manager will provide operational and clinical leadership to the MHUT team, working in partnership with GMMH, NWAS, GMP, BTP and VCSE.

Person specification

Essential

Essential criteria
  • Registered Mental Health Nurse
  • Registration with NMC
  • Substantial experience as a senior mental health practitioner within the NHS.
  • Extensive experience of working with patients with complex mental health needs
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation including – Mental Health Act, Mental Capacity Act, Care Act CPA Standards relevant to service area
  • Understanding of the role and function of key partners in statutory and non-statutory agencies
  • Promoting positive team cultures and identifying influencing factors in implementing change.
  • Ability to function and make decisions in high pressure clinical environments.
Desirable criteria
  • Management Qualification.
  • Experience of business planning.
  • Experience of working with all ages
