Main duties of the job
Become a Leading Force in Outpatient Care as Ward Manager!
As Ward Manager, you will be the cornerstone of effective managerial and clinical leadership within our Outpatient Department. Your role is pivotal in setting the standard—serving as a role model and a source of nursing expertise and specialist knowledge.
You will ensure your team consistently delivers exceptional, patient-centred care, adhering to all local and trust policies, guidelines, and best practices. Your leadership will inspire excellence, foster a culture of continuous improvement, and uphold the high standards that define our commitment to quality healthcare.

Qualifications
Essential criteria
- Registered Nurse with current NMC registration
Desirable criteria
- Mentorship/Practice Educator Qualification
- Evidence of leadership/management training
Knowledge, Training and Experience
Essential criteria
- Evidence of leadership/Management of Team
- Evidence based clinical knowledge
- Involvement in development of protocols and clinical audit
Desirable criteria
- Understanding of the outpatient setting
- Ability to demonstrate initiative to proactively problem solve with a solution focus
- Previous experience of working in an OPD setting
Skills and Abilities
Essential criteria
- Demonstrates effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrates adaptability and flexibility
- Ability to coordinate and manage workload effectively
Desirable criteria
- Knowledge and experience in supporting and managing the governance agenda
- Good interprofessional working experience
- Ability to use reflective practice to continuously improve the standard of patient care
- Substantial band 6 experience
