Job overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a specialist CAMHS team with a growing psychological therapies department, in which the Assistant Psychologist will have a central and valued role.

The key role of the post holder will be to assist in the development and delivery of resources and audit/service evaluation as well as direct clinical work, including group work where indicated. 

Main duties of the job

Healthy Young Minds Bury (HYM Bury) is a CAMH service based in Bury, Greater Manchester. We are a multidisciplinary team providing a mental health service to children, young people and their families. The service has well-established links with our partner agencies including education, children’s social care and the third sector and is striving to fully align to the Thrive approach to delivering mental health services. We are committed to supporting our staff in their development with access to CPD opportunities, a robust clinical and management supervision structure, and access to a recently developed in-house training programme covering key areas of clinical practice.  As a department we take trainees in Clinical Psychology and have good links to local training courses.

New investment has enabled the creation of an innovative and forward thinking, relationship-focussed and trauma-informed approach to the integration of specialist clinical skills within a quality family intervention service. The HYM clinical team comprised of mental health professionals including Clinical Psychologists, Cognitive Behavioural Therapists and Psychological Wellbeing Practitioners. As an Assistant Psychologist, you will be fully embedded and valuable member of the team's growing psychological therapies team.  You will have a key role in the provision of low intensity psychological therapies, service audits and reviews, and the running of therapy groups for service users.
