Community Phlebotomist

NHS AfC: Band 2

Job overview

We are Manchester  Local Care Organisation - an exciting,  public sector organisation bringing together NHS community health services and adult social care services in  Manchester. We’re driven by the aim of improving the health of local people in Manchester by working across organisational boundaries.

We are looking to recruit a trained Phlebotomist to join our team. For this role it is necessary that you are a caring and courteous individual that can work under pressure in a challenging environment.  You will be responsible for carrying out venipuncture working across the south Manchester Footprint for patients in their own homes, Care/Nursing homes, and  in clinics to meet service needs, as such it is essential that you have a full UK driving license and a vehicle insured for business use.

Main duties of the job

The Phlebotomist will respond to phlebotomy requests for patients in the Primary Care Setting.

The service also provides clinics across South Manchester in addition to visiting housebound patients in their own homes or residential/nursing homes.

The phlebotomist will work with minimal clinical supervision and without direct supervision following completion of an approved training course.

The post holder will work without direct supervision. Applications are invited from flexible individuals for the above post. Phlebotomy experience is essential.
