Anti Coagulation Specialist Nurse

As a Registered Nurse you will be responsible for supporting your Manager in ensuring that our service users’ needs are met through the delivery of high-quality care. As a center of excellence, you will offer a person-centered approach to their independence and wellbeing and go the extra mile to ensure compassionate and personalised patient care. To provide advice to support the assessment, planning, and implementation of programmes of care. To carry out specialist nursing procedures and be accountable for own professional actions. To undertake specialist education and training. To participate in research and clinical audits in the field of anticoagulation. To complete of Anticoagulation competencies to achieve Band 6 Anticoagulation Specialist Nurse.
Main duties of the job
To participate in planned programmes of care in relation to anticoagulation and hypercoagulability states, including:
- Accepting new referrals for anticoagulation
- Commencement of OAG
- Interpretation of blood results and adjustment of dosage of OAG
- Investigation of possible inherited thrombophilia states
- Discontinuation of OAG
- Counselling of patients
