Job overview
Medical SDEC (MSDEC) are seeking a motivated Band 6 Sister/Charge Nurse for secondment until October 2026.
The post holder must have a good understanding of Medical SDEC and have strong experience with Trust IT systems including Patient Centre and Advantis ED.
The post holder must demonstrate positive leadership and be adept in managing change within a team.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will support the Ward Manager in all aspects of Ward/ Department management and have a key role in co-ordinating and developing the nursing team ensuring that patients receive the required standard of care. The post holder will support the Ward Manager/ Team Leader in ensuring all staff comply with Trust policies/ procedures and professional and legal standards.
The post holder will coordinate patient flow through Medical SDEC from all referral routes.

If successful this vacancy will require an enhanced DBS check at a cost of £54.90. This cost will be deducted from your first Trust salary
In addition to this it will be a condition of your employment that you will join the DBS update service and pay the annual subscription fee of £16.

- RN adult
- Current NMC registration
- Professional or clinical qualification relevant to the speciality or evidence of working towards
