We have opportunities for a staff nurse within our endoscopy nursing team at Stepping Hill Hospital. You will be a motivated team player with a flexible attitude and be able to demonstrate commitment to your own professional development. You will be a diligent nurse and be ready to partake in the on call service. 

Main duties of the job

The successful applicants will have excellent communication and decision making and reflect the Trust vision and values in their daily working lives. Staff will be required to work flexibly over the working week and you will be required to participate in the 24 hour on call rota. Stockport NHS Foundation Trust provides elective endoscopy and procedures include: Gastroscopy; Colonoscopy; flexible sigmoidoscopy; Bronchoscopy; PEG insertion/removal and ERCP.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

The unit provides an excellent place to gain the knowledge, skills and experience at the start of your career in Endoscopy. We also provide a 7 day a week emergency non elective endoscopy service to provide care for our more urgent patients who may present through the emergency department or as inpatients this is supported by a 24 hour nurse on call.

All nurses will assist the Consultants in the procedure rooms whilst undergoing Endoscopy procedures. Our nurses will also assist in the recovery of our patients in a dedicated recovery. Our nurses will also be trained in the discharging of our patients safely home.

 If successful this vacancy will require an enhanced DBS check at a cost of £54.90. This cost will be deducted from your first Trust salary
