Phlebotomist

The Phlebotomist is an integral member of WTWA, Patient Flow : He/she will be responsible for safely and efficiently performing venipuncture on patients requiring blood tests.
Successful candidates will contribute to the efficient performance of the phlebotomy team in the provision of services to wards, clinics, Withington community hospital and GP services in the community, in accordance with local and Trust policies.

As part of the Phlebotomist team at Wythenshawe MFT candidates must meet the following criteria.
Evidence direct patient care experience working in a health care setting.
Must have a current full UK driving licence and have access to a suitable vehicle (Insured for business use) to perform duties in the community.
Must have the ability to put patients at ease and remain calm in an emergency
Attention to detail to ensure positive patient identification.
The ability to organise and prioritise duties and tasks
Knowledge of a range of software packages such as EPR, Microsoft word.
Health & Safety and Infection control awareness and how it applies to a Health Care setting.
Self-motivated, Flexible to work mornings and afternoons.
