Job overview

The post holder will be responsible for ensuring the provision of high quality multi-professional learning environments within the Trust and will be required to work locally within services where inter-professional learning opportunities can be provided. The post holder will be required to support the breadth of the student experience, which may require cross boundary working.

The post holder will require to support and train staff in Endoscopy procedures ensuring they are competent to ensure the safety of the patients is paramount and support the Endoscopist in endoscopy procedures.

 

Please note this a 12 month Fixed Term post 

Main duties of the job

- Assessing the quality of practice learning environments; ensuring all 
service areas/ placement providers have up to date action plans in 
place. 
- Facilitating the development, and ensuring a sufficient provision of 
mentors/ practice supervisors across relevant service areas; providing 
supervision and support structures, building education in practice 
capability, consistency and efficiency. 
- Structuring and coordinating inter-professional learning activity across 
a service area(s). 

- Ensuring all staff are competent in endoscopy procedures providing evidence for GRS

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

- Plan, design and deliver structured inter-professional learning in 
practice for healthcare students and mentors/ practice supervisors.

 - Contribute to the planning, delivery and review of multi professional development programmes for mentors/ practice supervisors in order to meet the learning needs of different professional groups, and to ensure that the facilitation of interprofessional learning outcomes is included.

 - Identify opportunities where multi-professional mentorship and 
practice supervision can be facilitated in practice as a foundation 
for inter-professional learning to take place.

- Produce and maintain a portfolio of education in practice activity 
within service area(s). For example, in house mentorship programmes, structured interprofessional learning activities, teaching packages.

- Develop, implement and review education in the clinical and other practice learning environments in line with educational policy.

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • 1 st level degree
  • Professional qualification, to a minimum of degree level, with up to date professional registration
  • Willingness to undertake Masters level study relating to education in practice
Desirable criteria
  • European Computer Driving License

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Broad range of clinical experience.
  • Experience of teaching, supervising and assessing healthcare students in the practice setting.
  • Experience of having worked across professional and organizational boundaries.
  • Practical experience of facilitating change.
  • Staff management/staff supervision.
  • Experience of developing and implementing new systems and procedures.

Knowledge

Essential criteria
  • Knowledge of different methods/ styles for teaching and learning
  • Detailed understanding of curriculum development including the generation of learning outcomes
  • Detailed understanding of a range of regulatory body requirements
  • In depth knowledge of Quality Assurance principles and framework
  • Working knowledge of Inter-professional learning theory
  • Microsoft office – Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access
