Job overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen on AFU for either a full or part time Clinical Support Workers to join our up and coming team.

If you are a passionate person whom thrives from giving excellent patient care and contributing to a positive patient experience this is the position for you.

AFU is an 28 bed assessment unit for over 74s who may suffer from frailty, our aim to view our patient from a MDT prospective to create the best possible care plan and safest discharges.

We liaise  with community services as well as provide frailty clinics Monday to Friday for our patients.

Main duties of the job

To assist Registered Nurses and other members of the multidisciplinary team in implementing patients’ care plan. Also undertake some clerical and domestic duties to ensure a safe environment.

Person specification

Qualifications, Specific Experience & Training

Essential criteria
  • Level 3 qualification (e.g. A-Level’s, NVQ3) in Health & Social Care OR
  • A good standard of education to A-Level standard and the agreement to undertake the relevant Level 3 qualification on appointment.
  • Experience working in a clinical environment an undertaking a range of relevant clinical skills with proven competencies.
Desirable criteria
  • Experience working in the NHS

  • A positive attitude and ability to act on feedback
  • Polite, friendly, approachable and self-motivated

Knowledge and Skills

Essential criteria
  • Evidence of competence in relevant specialist skills or tasks
  • Knowledge and understanding of the responsibilities of a Clinical Support Worker
  • Previous experience and training of manual handling patients using appropriate equipment
  • Can demonstrate an understanding of the importance of promoting patient independence
Desirable criteria
  • Able to provide support and reassurance to patients.
