Job overview

Individuals who are caring, compassionate and deliver high standards of care are encouraged to come and join our team on Ward 33  in a Health Care Assistant role.

Applicants will be able to demonstrate previous care experience and evidence that they are caring, compassionate, motivated,  and enjoy team working.

Main duties of the job

Under supervision of a registered nurse you will work as part of a team to deliver high standards of care, supporting patients to feel safe, cared for and supported within the hospital environment.

Person specification

Qualifications, Specific Experience & Training

Essential criteria
  • Level 2 qualification (e.g. GCSE Grade A-C, NVQ2) in Health & Social Care OR • A good standard of general education to GCSE level and the agreement to undertake the relevant L2 qualification on appointment
  • Completion of the Care Certificate theory and practice standards within 12 weeks of commencing employment with the Trust.
Desirable criteria
  • Experience working in a clinical environment
  • Experience working in the NHS

Knowledge and Skills

Desirable criteria
  • Previous experience and training of manual handling patients using appropriate equipment
  • Can demonstrate an understanding of the importance of promoting patient independence
  • Able to provide support and reassurance to patients

  • Ability to work well as part of a multi-disciplinary team
