The post holder will carry professional, clinical and educational responsibilities for the provision of patient services in the Gynaecology Speciality Clinics.
The post holder will be expected to have willingness to train to work within areas of the Gynaecology Clinics You will be expected to work independently once training is completed with own patient case load. The post holder will be able to deliver clinical diagnostic test and perform treatments.

Main duties of the job
To ensure fulfilment of the requirements for professional updating and maintain a personal record for future registration purposes.
Work within and monitor standards of care within the defined policies, procedures, standards and protocols of the unit to ensure the delivery of a high quality of service.
Ensure effective communication processes to meet the needs of patients, relatives and other members of the multidisciplinary team.
Propose and develop evidence based policies/procedures and working practices within the clinical area and ensure they are implemented.
Set a high standard of record keeping regarding patient care which comprehensive, concise, valid and audited on a regular basis.
Responsible for implementing strategies which enable quality targets to be met utilising recognised audit tools.
Provide clinical and professional advice to other medical and nursing staff within the gynaecology unit ensuring education needs of patients and staff are met.
Responsible for own education and knowledge within chosen speciality.
They would be responsible for providing a diagnostic and treatment service for women with suspected or confirmed Gynaecological malignancy and managing these patients accordingly.
The post holder would expected to practice within national/local guidelines and protocols.

Qualifications
Essential criteria
- 1st level RGN (significant post registration)
- Evidence of on-going professional development with a relevant diploma
- Willingness to study to degree level
- Basic life support
Desirable criteria
- Recognised teaching/mentorship qualification or equivalent
- Management qualification
Knowledge
Essential criteria
- Previous experience working in the NHS
- Significant experience working in Gynaecology
- Ability to set and establish priorities
- Evidence of quality improvement in patient care
- Ability to deal with difficult and sensitive situations
- Knowledge and participation in audit
- Awareness of understanding an application of current evidence based practices
- Awareness of how audit may influence quality of patient care
- Previous experience of working as a Nurse Hysteroscopist
