Job overview
M1 is a medically optimised older adult ward providing care for patients who are clinically stable but require ongoing nursing support, monitoring, and discharge planning. The ward has 30 core beds and supports up to 10 escalation beds during periods of increased demand. M1 is not a rehabilitation ward; however, preventing de-conditioning and promoting independence are key priorities within individual care plans.
The ward predominantly supports frail older adults with complex needs, including cognitive impairment, reduced mobility, and long-term conditions.
The Clinical Support Worker plays a vital role in delivering high-quality, compassionate, and person-centred care. The post holder will support patients with activities of daily living, nutrition and hydration, safe mobilisation, and comfort, while promoting dignity, independence, and wellbeing.
Main duties of the job
To assist Registered Nurses and other members of the multidisciplinary team in implementing patients’ care plan.
Also undertake some clerical and domestic duties to ensure a safe environment.
