Job overview
We are seeking highly motivated health care support workers to rise to the challenge of working on Ward 15 at Royal Glamorgan Hospital currently operating as a Trauma and Orthopaedic ward, with 56 beds across 2 wards 28 beds each side.
You will work alongside the Ward Manger, the Deputy Ward Manager and Registered Nurses on this busy, challenging ward. You will be responsible for supporting the registered staff in delivering high quality nursing care for all patients requiring care intervention. Experience within a care setting would be preferential but not essential.

To be self motivated, organised and flexible in your approach
The ability to work on your own using your initiative, whilst demonstrating good team working skills and behaviours in order to be part of an already established team
A clear vision for best practice
An ability to develop relationships across professional and Organisational boundaries.
You will be supported during your orientation and development. Ongoing support will be provided through team meetings and development days. You can expect to have regular contact with the Ward Manager regarding your development. You will have access to further study and opportunities to expand your role in line with service development.
Welsh Skills Desirable: This post is advertised as Welsh Desirable. This doesn’t mean essential; whilst the candidate doesn't need to have skills in Welsh, we'll consider it an advantage when short-listing and selecting candidates. This isn’t ‘fluency’, just Speaking & Listening skills at Level 3 (equivalent to CEFR B2) or above. Level 3 means basic conversations with patients about their everyday health. The Health Board currently operate a number of different shift systems. The most common are a 12.5 hour shift, inclusive of either one 30 minute or two 30-minute unpaid breaks. These shift patterns are subject to review and the Health Board reserves the right to change working arrangements. CTM is a Health Board committed to meaningful consultation with staff and to making balanced decisions that consider all aspects of our service and workforce.
