We are looking for Registered Nurses who are up for a challenge working in a Critical Care enviroment.  

We are pleased to be able to offer an exciting opportunity for Band 5 nurses with a passion for Critical Care nursing the opportunity to join us at The Royal Glamorgan Hospital llantrisant. . We are particularly interested to hear from applicants with acute care experience, however nurses with limited experience and from other clinical backgrounds will be supported to develop in the role.

Main duties of the job

To provide the highest standard of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of individualised, holistic patient care in conjunction with the multi-disciplinary team. The post holder provides care to critically ill patients with supervision and  support of senior staff in this area of specialist practice. 

Welsh Skills Desirable: This post is advertised as Welsh Desirable. This means Speaking & Listening at Level 3 (equivalent to CEFR B2). We don’t need fluency. Level 3 means basic conversations with patients about their everyday health. For more information, see the ‘Croeso Candidate’ booklet below.

The Health Board currently operate a number of different shift systems. The most common are a 12.5 hour shift, inclusive of either one 30 minute or two 30-minute unpaid breaks. These shift patterns are subject to review and the Health Board reserves the right to change working arrangements. CTM is a Health Board committed to meaningful consultation with staff and to making balanced decisions that consider all aspects of our service and workforce.

The post holder will be required to ensure the highest standard of patient care, which reflects the quality standards and mission of the Local Health Board and contribute to the implementation of policies and procedures within their sphere of responsibility. 

 

The post holder will provide clinical care to acutely ill patients according to their acuity level. 

  A management responsibility limited to the resource management of direct patient care and own time. Always working with minimal supervision of more senior staff.   

 Would be expected to support junior staff within their sphere of responsibility. 

The post holder may on occasions to be required to work in other areas of the directorate 

 Registered General Nurse with Nursing Midwifery Council part1, 2 or 12 

 The post holder will be responsible for the direct delivery of highly skilled nursing 

Care involving the use of complex physical skills. 

 Will be required to act within NMC code of conduct and professional regulations.
