Job overview

Health Care Support Worker within ABUHB at the Grange University Hospital and the Royal Gwent Hospital working within the Medicine or Surgery Division.

An exciting opportunity has become available within Aneurin Bevan University Health Board as a Health Care Support Worker to join our caring and professional nursing team

To be eligible to apply, you must meet one of the following criteria:

  • Hold an NVQ/QCF Level 2 in Health and Social Care obtained within a Health and Social Care setting; or
  • Have at least 6 months’ experience working in a domiciliary care setting.

Please note that this role will require you to be fully flexible so that you are able to cover rotational shifts that includes days, nights and weekends.

Currently we are unable to provide certificates of sponsorship for this role as it does not meet the Home Office’s criteria. Anyone requiring a certificate of sponsorship is therefore unable to be shortlisted and interviewed

This post is currently advertised at Band 2. The role is under review within the Health Board as part of a national review and may, in future, progress to Band 3 with an updated job description. If appointed, your manager will ensure you are kept informed and will support you through any changes, including discussing relevant training requirements

We are a friendly team and welcome applications from Health Care Support Worker's who possess excellent communication skills both written and verbal and who are committed to providing high standards of care for patients, their families and carers within a hospital setting.  Ideally the candidate will have excellent computer skills and be enthusiastic about change management and supportive towards their colleagues.
