Job overview

An exciting developmental opportunity has arisen for a development Nurse Practitioner who has a passion for gastroenterology medicine and who is dynamic and professional. 

This role will support the current ANP in Gastroenterology Ambulatory Care Unit (GACU) at the Royal Gwent Hospital and help to develop the service in GACU across our sites, with a focus on supporting pathways for gastro patients, improving our patient experience and outcome

Travel between sites is essential.

Working alongside Annex 21 

Main duties of the job

The role will include: (not an exhaustive list)

 

  • Providing support to ward staff on the Acute Gastroenterology Ward A4 at Grange University Hospital and delivering a training element in the delivery of nursing care to Gastroenterology patients. This will ensure raised awareness of timely medication, monitoring and escalation. The combination of this will promote patient experience and outcome. 
  •  Supporting and enhancing the delivery of care at the point of contact, ensuring advanced clinical nursing input.  
  • Supporting management and escalation of the deteriorating patient.  
  •      Providing seamless links with other nurse led services, e.g. Alcohol Liaison, IBD, Hepatology and Nutrition teams. 
  •    Acute inpatient reviews. 
  •  Supporting work within GACU    Working towards front door reviews. 
  • A full development plan will be developed to support the individual
