Job overview
We have a fantastic opportunity for a band 7 Non-Medical Prescriber to lead clinical practice for our Great Yarmouth and Waveney Mental Health Liaison Service (MHLS) based at the James Paget University Hospital.
We are also offering this as a developmental opportunity for an existing B6 nurse with extensive experience working within MHLS who wishes to progress their career and undertake the NMP training module.
MHLS provides the Core24 service at JPUH for ages 16 and over. The multidisciplinary team includes Mental Health Practitioners (Nurses/Social
Workers), Clinical Psychologist, Consultant Psychiatrists and Admin staff.

The role of the NMP is to provide specialist clinical interventions to our patients. It also involves delivery of leadership activities within the team.
If appointed, you will:
· Deliver clinical interventions.
· Work as a non-medical prescriber.
· Offer support, supervision and informal training to your colleagues.
· Contribute to multi-disciplinary team (MDT) meetings.
· Undertake other clinical tasks within the team.
The ideal candidate will have some experience of working in Mental Health Liaison supporting working age adults with mental health difficulties. You will need to have a sound understanding of biopsychosocial assessment and be able to demonstrate your abilities in risk management. You will provide specialist assessment and treatment advice managing referrals from the ED and in-patient wards.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
Your role will be to:
To complete holistic mental health assessments with Medication review and prescribing.
- Undertake the assessment, planning and delivery of direct patient care with minimal supervision, ensuring continuity of practice and working within a multi-disciplinary and multi-agency environment.
- Communicate decisions about mental health care services, referrals and future support arrangements to people with a mental health care need.
- Be responsible for accurate recording of all patients support, including assessments, reviews, day to day contact and discharges.
