At NNUH it is our privilege to provide healthcare to over one million people across Norfolk and surrounding areas. Our vision is to ‘provide every patient with the care we want for those we love the most’, and if this inspires you and you share our values, we really want you to join our team.

We are looking for an experienced Nurse to join our multidisciplinary team on our dedicated Respiratory ward.

This is a rare opportunity to join Gunthorpe ward, one of our two respiratory wards at NNUH specializing in patients following Pleuritic procedures and home to our Respiratory Investigation unit.

Located right in the heart of the hospital, a winner of ward of the year and a constant high achiever in cleaning audits and pressure ulcer free days this is an opportunity to join a team who will support your development and progression.

Working as a Registered Nurse on Gunthorpe ward you will help us care for a diverse group of patients with acute respiratory based conditions as part of a well-organized and friendly team.  You will also help us to provide a professional and empathetic service to the patients and relatives in our care.

Respiratory Medicine at NNUH is at the forefront of innovation

Our 18 week, sleep and lung cancer performance is really important to us and as such we have a dedicated team including Nurse Consultants who undertook joint working with radiology and thoracics to bring in one stop clinics, straight to CT.

We have developed a new respiratory investigation unit which allowed us to become the first in the UK to establish a service with its own equipment to carry out navigational bronchoscopies. This is the medical equivalent of creating a sat nav map around a patient’s lung to take a biopsy – quicker, less painful and invasive than traditional methods and can be done on an outpatient basis.

The first navigational bronchoscopy with radial EBUS at the hospital was carried out in August 2018 and since then we have gone from strength to strength.

Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital is a beautiful, purpose built, modern hospital with bright and airy atriums flooding the building with beautiful Norfolk sunshine.  In a recent survey, 97% of friends and family would recommend NNUH to a family member; this is a direct result of out 7,500 strong multi-disciplinary workforce working together in a constant effort to improve patient care.  With strong links to the University of East Anglia and Norwich Research Park we want to give our staff every opportunity and the support to achieve their potential.

Why Norwich?

In Norwich a staggering 77% of people say they love their job.   Although less than 2 hours from London and serviced by excellent transport links , Norwich is one of few UK cities that still retain a strong local identity and with that a strong sense of community – people walk down the street and say hello to each other, baristas remember our coffee order, you get to know about interesting local projects.

This strong sense of self along with excellent shopping, eating out, affordable house prices and excellent schooling is why Norwich has been ranked by the Guardian as the best city to work in.

Wish you were here?

So do we…..

We are looking for hard working and dedicated Band 5 Registered Nurses to join our team.  Working as part of a full rota you will form part of the Nursing Team as we aim to deliver the gold standard in patient care.  In return for your hard work we will fully support you with training and development
