Job overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Critical Care Nurse  to join our Critical Care Leadership team here at HDFT. 

We are looking for a dynamic individual who is keen to take the next step in developing their career by stepping into the role of the Critical Care Lead nurse. The main aims of the position will be to provide clinical advice, support and leadership within Critical Care, having continuing 24-hour responsibility for the management of the ward, ensuring that the highest quality is maintained at all times. This involves managing a wide range of complex and sometimes conflicting priorities whilst demonstrating effective leadership and staff management /development.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will take a key role in supporting the current Critical Care Leadership team  providing clinical and managerial expertise in developing our current workforce. The ideal candidate will provide skills and knowledge as part of the Critical Care Team and participate in clinical audit for monitoring and maintaining clinical standards and high quality care.

Essential criteria
  • Recent Band 6 Experience in Critical Care Minimum of two years experience
  • NMC Registration
  • Teaching Qualification
  • Advanced Life Support course or working towards
  • Substantial Critical and/or Acute Care Experience
Desirable criteria
  • Recent critical care senior leadership experience
  • Experience of collating and reviewing audits in relation to critical care
  • Teaching qualification
  • Leadership qualification
