Job overview

We’re looking for a motivated and dynamic individual to join the Resuscitation Department at Harrogate and District NHS Foundation Trust (HDFT). Band 5 or 6 depending on experience

In this developmental secondment, you’ll play a vital part in delivering a high-quality resuscitation service across our acute hospital and community sites throughout the North of England by;

·         Deliver engaging, specialist resuscitation training to a wide range of staff, including doctors, nurses, and allied health professionals.

·         Act as a trusted expert and resource for resuscitation advice, supporting excellence in both education and clinical practice.

·         Contribute to the continuous improvement of our services through regular audits of cardiac arrest procedures and resuscitation equipment.

·         Champion best practice in patient safety and support the delivery of HDFT’s vision and the goals of the Resuscitation Department.

·         Develop your teaching and training skills, with support from an experienced and friendly team.

·         Gain to a range of nationally recognised advanced resuscitation and instructor courses to enhance your professional development.

Main duties of the job

·         Support the department’s vision to empower staff through effective learning and delivery of resuscitation excellence.

·         Deliver and advise on basic life support skills and work towards assisting with intermediate and advanced levels in line with Resuscitation Council UK guidelines, progressing towards Advanced Instructor status.

·         Maintain up-to-date, evidence-based knowledge and integrate best practice into training and clinical support.

·         Contribute to the implementation and ongoing improvement of HDFT’s Resuscitation Policy.

·         Act as an advocate for staff and patients, applying ethical, legal, and professional standards in all aspects of practice.

Evidence of experience and qualifications

Essential criteria
  • 2 years experience in acute, emergency or critical care
  • Previous teaching experience
  • ILS / ALS provider- or paeds equivelant
Desirable criteria
  • Experience in delivering resuscitation training
  • Experience of Paediatric care/ resuscitation management
  • Currently working in a role with frequent access to seriously ill patients
  • Experience of clinical audit
  • ALS/ EPALS instructor
