Job overview

CAMHS Inpatients are looking for a highly motivated, caring, compassionate individual with at least 1 years of experience with working with young people. Working alongside the team to deliver quality care and support to the young people whilst they are admitted on the ward. 

Main duties of the job

Working with young people within CAMHS Inpatients with Mental Health Difficulties starting from admission and ensuring a smooth transition upon discharge.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

Developing and maintaining therapeutic relationships with parents/professionals. Assisting with the admission and discharge of patients. Supporting young people with daily aspects of living. Offering 1:1 keyworker sessions. Maintain effective communication and recording keeping. Physical health checks, medication, risk assessment and care plans.

Knowledge

Essential criteria
  • At least 1 years experience of working in a Nursing Role
  • RMN Dip/HE Mental Health & Learning Disabilities
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation, Children's Act 2004, Safeguarding & Mental Health Act
  • Knowledge & Experience of working with adolescents with a range of emotional and mental health needs
Desirable criteria
  • Experience of working within CAMHS
  • Mentorship Qualification or Equivalent

Skills

Essential criteria
  • Ability to maintain personal and professional boundaries
  • Able to take instruction
  • Good communication including ability to take instruction
Desirable criteria
  • Knowledge of SystmOne (Patient recording keeping system)
  • Skills to supervise Junior staff
