Staff Nurse

Band 5

The Specialist Receiving Unit (SRU) is an emergency admissions unit that receives patients from four main specialities including Haematology, Renal, Oncology and Infectious Diseases. This is an exciting opportunity for a Band 5 staff nurse to join a diverse and motivated team that is dedicated to the development of specialist clinical skills and the delivery of high quality safe are.

The largest proportion of patients that are admitted to SRU are patients with cancer who have become unwell during their treatment. We pride ourselves on our Neutropenic Sepsis care and Acute Care Skills. We are a highly innovative team and support any member of staff in developing and implementing improvement ideas to improve patient or staff experience.

On SRU we pride ourselves in our involvement with Magnet, and are eager to hear from candidates who want to be part of delivering excellent patient outcomes and improving the job satisfaction of nurses at Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust (NUH). We have a team that is passionate and proactive, with numerous staff successfully completing patient improvement projects that have been shared Trust wide. SRU was shortlisted for Team of the Year for the NUH Honours Awards in 2016 and have had staff members individually nominated and shortlisted. We are a forward thinking team who are willing to support individuals who are looking for career progression and development of acute care skills.

We require an individual who is enthusiastic, confident, self-motivated and possess good communication skills, enjoys a challenge and can work as part of a team. Please contact the unit if you have any questions or would like to arrange an informal visit.
