Midwife Sonographer

Band 6

We are seeking a Registered Midwife who holds a formal qualification in Obstetric Ultrasound to join our established Midwife Sonography Team at Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust. The Midwife Sonography Team was launched in 2012 in response to a shortage of sonographers. Since then, and with significant investment, the team has become established, and a valuable addition to the Antenatal Services at NUH.

You will be a qualified and experienced Midwife with a broad experience of all aspects of Maternity care. You will be educated to Degree standard, be able to demonstrate depth of knowledge and decision-making skills. You will be able to perform Ultrasound scans in the 2nd and 3rd trimesters, focussing on biometry, liquor volume and UA Doppler, ensuring optimal use of equipment, plus accurate interpretation of results and reporting. Local guidelines will be utilised to then act upon the results.

The post-holder will work within a small team, rotating across both Campuses of NUH. We are willing to implement a support package to bring the right candidate up to date with Midwifery practices, if required.

We are looking for an individual with great communication skills who is team player and enthusiastic about the role of ultrasound within Maternity care.
